Storing a portable gasoline generatorMany people purchase these units, prep them prior to a storm, including putting fuel in them. The unit sits around for a season
or two then they do not work. Now you have to bring it into a shop and unfortunately buy a new carburator unless its one where
you have someone capable or rebuilding the existing one. The problem is that gasoline does not have a very long shelf life
and it will gum up after a short period of time sitting around. Ideally always put additives in the fuel if you are going
to keep it and when you are going to store your generator, shut the fuel valve off and of-course in a well ventilated area,
run the unit until it runs out of fuel.
